Knoxville & Tennessee & Rockets, Oh My!

This is where our journey to the moon begins. In a lovely living room in June, 2015, just inside a charming Southern porch wrapped with a lawn and trees that stretched for what seems miles , we sit down with guitar and computer and begin to talk, to write, to muse. We laugh a little and chat some until we settle into a groove. While we expect to find our usual Americana/Pop tendencies leading the song, we stumble upon a jazzy melody and lyrics that are reminiscent to old time standards. This kind of music being one of both our favorites, we follow that thread and come up with our first tune in this series of songs, ROCKET.

...If I built a rocket to the moon and I went there, would you come to? We could have a candlelit dehydrated steak and ride along the milk way. Who needs gravity when we're naturally like a comet in the sky. Our trajectory seems perfect to me, come on for a ride. Let's fly to the farthest star, it may take a lifetime, that's true. But if we only shot for mars we'd get there in a week or two. Baby can't you see that's not long enough for me, no I want to spend forever with you. We could leave behind all the water and the clay. Say goodbye to all of our yesterdays. You could be my sunshine, I could be your starlight. What do you say?...
